INBODY S10 Body Composition analyzer
The InBody S10 is a comprehensive device specializing in body water analysis and nutritional assessment of patients. The InBodyS10 also provides comprehensive body water information such as intracellular water, extracellular water, extracellular water ratio to total body water, and history of body water condition. These outputs are used in numerous dialysis clinics and nutritional support teams of hospitals to provide an upgraded treatment for the patients. With its suitably designed apparatus for patients in bed, the InBodyS10 can be used for critically ill patients as well. It allows body composition and body water analysis testing in the supine position. With its revolutionary Touch Type electrodes, the InBody S10 allows for precise, reproducible, and convenient testing for individuals who require specialized attention and care. It can be in three different postures adoptable; standing, sitting, and lying type.
Features
Touch Electrode-For bed-ridden and immobile patients.-The Touch Type electrodes are used to test bed-ridden patients. The electrodes gently clip onto the patient’s fingers and ankles
Adhesive electrode-For amputee patients-Test patients with paralyzed or amputated limbs with the Adhesive Type electrodes.
Ultra-portable -conveniently test patients, in various departments
Store-Store up to 100,000 results.
Supine Testing-Measure while the user is laying down in less than 90 seconds. No dunking. No pinching. No discomfort.
Easy check of before/during/after the state of the dialysis, vessel path(access), paralyzed part. – Viewable how the body water status change before/during after dialysis by a graph.
Application
INBODY S10 is used in Medical research centers and hospitals for health checking and management mostly for dialysis and can be used for critically ill patients as well.
No Estimations
Only impedance is used to determine your body composition results; no statistical data or empirical equations are used or required to predict your body composition.
Supine Testing
Measure fat, muscle, and water levels in less than 90 seconds. No dunking. No pinching. No discomfort. Simply attach the electrodes to the user to test.

What is the InBody S10?
The InBody S10 body water analyzer is specifically designed for immobile or amputee patients and uses attachable electrodes to identify excess fluid and assess cellular health. The touch type electrodes are used to test bed-ridden patients and gently clip the patient’s fingers and ankles. For patients with paralyzed or amputated limbs, use the adhesive type electrodes to perform a test.
How is an InBody test performed?
Safe, low-level currents are sent through the body through the hand and foot electrodes. The impedance the currents encounter is measured, and from there, your body composition is derived. With InBody’s patented technology, BIA has never been more highly correlated with gold standard methods until now.
How to interpret the Body Water Composition graph?
By examining the Body Water Composition graph, you can identify the exact amount of excess fluid to remove from a patient going through treatments such as dialysis– avoiding guesswork and patient discomfort that can be caused by unintentional hypohydration or hyperhydration.
What are Segmental ECW/TBW Ratios?
A key feature of the InBody S10 is its ability to accurately report Segmental ECW/TBW ratios. Excess body fluid can be accurately pinpointed before dialysis, and the drops in the ECW/TBW ratios in the five cylindrical body regions can be observed after dialysis is completed. Caregivers can learn valuable information about how a patient is responding to dialysis and better prepare for future treatments. Go to the Result Sheet Interpretation to learn more about other outputs of this model.
How can I use InBody S10 for dialysis treatment?
Segmental ECW/TBW reveals body water distribution in each individual body segment. This allows for the monitoring of trends and detection of unusual shifts in fluid distribution that result from injury, aging, obesity and other health factors. Track the changes in Body Water Composition History to see how a patient is responding to a program and if modifications need to be made to improve their health.
How can I use InBody S10 analysis data to monitor malnutrition or any other medical treatments?
With Phase Angle, you can track a patient’s cellular health and assess their nutritional state during various treatments. Phase angle is a good indicator of cellular integrity. The InBody S10 provides whole body phase angle and segmental phase angle analysis at 50 kHz. The higher the phase angle, the healthier cellular integrity is. Phase angle values can be used to ensure a patient is receiving the appropriate vitamin and mineral intake.
The body water composition history allows an individual to monitor changes in their body water resulting from diet, exercise, or medical treatment. Tracking changes over time allows for body water changes to be monitored over time, taking into account where the individual started, the progress being made, changes in overall body water, and the ability to identify if modifications need to be made to the treatment plan based on the body water history.
How to perform a test with InBody S10?
InBody S10 allows for supine testing which opens the doors for the elderly, amputees, and obese patients to test their body composition.
Two different sets of electrodes allow the InBody S10 to test an individual in a standing, seated, or supine position. Having this option allows for the device to be extremely versatile without sacrificing accuracy or efficiency. You can learn about the proper testing procedures in our InBody S10 Training Manual.
Where do I store the test results data?
You can purchase LookinBody Data Management cloud software. The built-in management system allows you to maintain and manage clients individually, giving you more insight on how you can keep your clients on track towards their goals. With our cloud software, you can consolidate and manage member results, create faster profiles, email results sheets and expedite the testing process. The prices start as low as $25 per month.
